Wear comfortable clothing that you can move. In Aerial we spend some time upside down so we recommend fitted clothing to avoid loose clothing falling down or getting tangled in the fabric.
We provide all the equipment you could need.
Bring some water with you to stay hydrated throughout class and a jumper for relaxation.
For most people, Aerial is a safe form of exercise. However, some people that would be best to avoid Aerial completely. For example, if you have glaucoma, high or low blood pressure or any neurological conditions. Please check with a medical professional to make sure aerial is suitable for you if you have any other health issues.
In addition, if you have recently had surgery you should consult with your doctor before attending class.
We would not recommend starting Aerial if you're pregnant. Unfortunately lots of poses within a regular classes would not be suitable during pregnancy. However, many women who are experienced aerialists who become pregnant often continue practicing with modified versions of poses.
All physical activity carries some form of risk, with that said, Aerial sling is an incredibly safe exercise. All our equipment has been tested and purpose built for Aerial. On top of our professional equipment and regular checks, we also make sure our instructors are highly qualified to assure the safety of our students.
We recommend that you leave at least two hours between a main meal and attending class. Digestion of food requires energy and when you do attend class straight after a meal, your energy goes to the muscles you’re exercising and the body can’t digest the food properly.
Also, one of the amazing things about Aerial sling is the ease of inverting (hanging upside down) which is ideal when the body is trying to digest.
You do not need to be flexible to practice Aerial sling; increased flexibility will come in time as you practice. Most of us spend our day sitting down at work or engaging in repetitive motion that shortens muscles. Working with the sling we can try to lengthen your muscles and release built up toxins.
We’re located next to a large building which has communal changing rooms, showers and toilets. This space is not attached to the studio, so best to visit before you check in for class. The facilities are located inside the Innovation Centre, the large grey building next to the studio.
We’re located on Howbery Business Park which has plenty of free parking available. Please make sure you park within a bay and not blocking anyone else's vehicle.
To save your space on the waitlist payment is required. If a place becomes available more than 24 hours before the start of the class, you will automatically be added on and get an email confirming this. If it is less than 24 hours, one of us will phone or email you to see if you want the space before adding you on. If you do not make it into class, your payment will be on your account ready for your next booking.
